Semiconductors, Sagem, Schlumberger SRPC, Schlumberger T&T, Schneider, ST Microelectronics,
Siemens, SNCF, Thales Avionics, Tietronix Optics, Thomson multimedia, Wavecom, etc...
and what some of them say about our Design Services :
“ ALSE developed a complete and optimized video system in a Cyclone FPGA
in just three weeks, from specification to working prototype !
ALSE offered fixed cost and guaranteed delays, with no payment until the
system was delivered and working. This no-risk approach facilitated the purchase decision.
Moreover, they turned all their know-how
to us, all source files (including
comments!), test benches, scripts, design documentation, etc... so that we were
immediately able to modify and adapt the system to other needs.
The source code
is clear, well-written, very efficient, and easy to maintain.
We have rights to use this source code as we please we can modify it as needed, and we have
no royalty issue for the future of our project. The developers are very knowledgeable,
responsive and efficient.
Last but not least, the solution they built is
highly optimized : it is fast, compact,
and takes the best advantage of the hardware resources available.
We enjoyed this way of sub-contracting and
we highly recommend this company ! ”
Jean-Loup Chrétien,
(First Western non-American Cosmonaut) CEO TieTronix Optics.
“ ALSE has designed for the Actaris Electricity Division several complex FPGAs
applications mixing Signal Processing and Industrial Automation. This
technology, combined with our “savoir-faire”, gave the opportunity to develop a new generation
of products, more compact and enhanced with new
functionalities for some innovative Ripple Control Load Management Systems. This generation offers a
greater efficiency and allows to quickly meet new customers specifications.
ALSE was able to pack a LOT of features
and processing power in small Altera devices, in just couples of weeks ! Cost and delay
were always right on target.
Moreover, since we received all the
source code, know-how, and the proper training
, we have been able to iterate the designs autonomously. We can reuse
their code at will, in existing and future equipments, at no extra cost.
Last but not least: the ALSE engineers stand behind their code. We can ask for
support even years after, and get help instantly. ALSE’s Technical support is excellent !
Sub-contracting our FPGA designs to ALSE has been a
very successful experience
, both short-term and long-term due to their « savoir-faire » (expertise) and
high sense of partnership. ”
J.P. Huet – Hardware Leader - Actaris - Load Management Systems
“ ALSE helped us in different occasions and projects, all successful.
Their HDL, FPGA and ASIC
expertise was indeed a welcome addition to our
internal forces, and helped us implement our ambitious projects and innovative
signal processing schemes. On two different ASIC projects, their strong verification
methodology helped achieve a First pass correct silicon while meeting very stringent and
demanding deadlines.
ALSE came out with innovative
solutions (SoC Asic debugger, custom Flash
field programmer...) that addressed nicely serious issues in the project, and were designed
very quickly.
The ALSE engineers are competent both in
VHDL and Verilog which was important to us since we use both languages in Schlumberger,
and they are fast !
We also did appreciate the transparency : ALSE
trained our engineers on HDL
and Design & Verification Methodology, and transferred all their know-how to our teams.
This was definitely more a partnership than mere subcontracting. ”
Lionel Beneteau - Electrical Technology Manager
Schlumberger Sugar Land Product Center
“ The Meudon and Nancay Observatories have been building for a while a
number of radio-astronomy receivers which principal characteristics are high
dynamic range, great sensitivity, large instantaneous bandwidth and real time data processing.
Building a brand new generation
of such receivers based on very innovative
techniques and hardware platforms was planned in order to get benefits from the
up-to-date digital components. These receivers are based on a common
platform embedding several large FPGAs and DSP linked together and hosted on PC computers to form an
extremely potent and configurable real-time signal processing system.
ALSE designed and implemented the signal processing hardware algorithms in
the FPGAs, using mostly their own HDL and FPGA know-how, thus achieving extreme performance
. Their development methodology also includes the
creation of bit-accurate behavioral models (C, MatLab or SciLab) that help our
scientists in verifying and fine-tuning the algorithms early on.
As a result, we have now
several operational platforms which open a new era in
Radio Astronomy : it becomes now possible to drastically decrease the negative
impact of man-made noises (so called RFI), like satellites network, civil and
military radars, etc... In other words : RFI mitigation is now achievable with these
new real time FPGA-based processing platforms.
We found with ALSE a focused, very
competent, and extremely reactive team.
After several years of collaboration, we have grown our internal know-how, and we
are now maintaining and modifying our systems internally. ALSE is still helping us implementing
new challenging techniques though.
We have established open and confidence-based relationship, and whatever
challenging the project we know we can count on ALSE ! ”
Laurent Denis - Observatoire de Radio Astronomie de Nançay - Chief Engineer
“ We had an innovative analog design but only a few weeks to build a working
prototype for a digital acquisition system with embedded firmware, without a lot of
prior experience in this field at this time.
The ALSE team was able, using one of their existing
SoC demo board, to build and debug this working prototype, in just a few days
, including the C-compiled
SoC code interfaced with the VHDL code for the data acquisition and for driving a two-lines LCD !
The project was up and running in record time !
Since ALSE delivered all the know-how
, we have been able to completely and
easily reuse and modify the initial design to build the final integrated system. ”
